About L.E.A.S.H. (Support Law Enforcement and Service Heroes)

Turning Idea into Action

My name is David Wang, the founder for L.E.A.S.H. My journey in community service has been rooted in a personal connection that began when I was just a toddler. At the age of 2, I found myself lost with my grandmother, far from home, and disoriented. It was the Fort Bend Sheriff who came to our rescue with K9 on the ground, a helicopter in the air, and more than 20 police cars scanning through the community, locating us swiftly and ensuring our safety. My parents have been telling me the story over the years, and the memory of that day has remained etched in my mind, a testament to the dedication and compassion of law enforcement. In gratitude for their assistance, my family and I resolved to give back. Organizing events to gather donations and support the law enforcement and service heroes was a way for us to express our thanks. This journey led to the formation of the non-profit organization "L.E.A.S.H." (Law Enforcement and Service Heroes), a platform dedicated to honoring those who safeguard our community.

Together with my sister Angelina Wang, our goals are to:

  1. Provide Comprehensive Support:

    • Develop and implement programs that address the diverse needs of law enforcement and service heroes, including physical and mental well-being, career development, and community engagement.

  2. Foster Community and Connection:

    • Create platforms and initiatives that encourage a sense of community, camaraderie, and mutual support among law enforcement and service professionals, as well as their families.

  3. Promote Mental Health and Resilience:

    • Advocate for mental health awareness and destigmatize seeking help. Implement initiatives to provide mental health resources, counseling, and support services for individuals in the field.

  4. Ensure Well-Being and Safety:

    • Collaborate with organizations and experts to address issues related to the safety and well-being of law enforcement and service heroes, advocating for policies and practices that prioritize their welfare.

  5. Celebrate Acts of Valor and Service:

    • Recognize and honor the achievements, acts of valor, and exemplary service of law enforcement and service heroes through events and public recognition.

  6. Community Outreach and Education:

    • Engage in community outreach programs to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Provide educational resources to increase understanding and cooperation.

  7. Advocate for Positive Change:

    • Actively engage in advocacy efforts to promote positive changes in policies, legislation, and public perceptions that impact law enforcement and service professionals.

  8. Emergency Assistance and Relief:

    • Establish a fund to provide emergency financial assistance and relief to law enforcement and service heroes facing unforeseen challenges or crises.

  9. Sustainable Growth and Impact:

    • Strive for organizational sustainability, growth, and increased impact by expanding partnerships, securing funding, and continuously evaluating and improving programs and services.
